St Mary’s has a board of governors who meet every term during the year to discuss the school’s effectiveness and make decisions on developing many aspects of the school’s work.
There are also governor committees that meet during the year for specific purposes.
- The Staffing Committee make decisions on staffing and pay
- The Finance Committee overseas the school budget and ensures value for money
- The Admissions Committee makes decisions on admitting pupils to the school, according to our published admissions criteria
- The Premises Committee meets to plan maintenance work and improvements to the school building and environment
- The Curriculum Committee overseas development of the school curriculum
Governors also link with teaching staff who hold curriculum responsibilities. They meet with staff at least once per year to discuss the school improvement plan and future priorities in their area of responsibility.
