This year, the results for Early Years improved once again, Phonics results rose again and results in KS1 and KS2 are broadly in line with national figures.
In EYFS, 61% of children achieved a Good Level of Development. This is another big improvement on last year, when 47% achieved this standard.
In KS1, 86% of pupils passed the Phonics test in Year 1 (higher than last year) and 92% of children passed the test in Year 2.
At the end of KS1, 88% achieved Level 2+ in Reading, 83% in Writing and 92% in Maths. In Reading and Writing, children achieved particularly well at the higher levels of 2A and Level 3.
At the end of KS2 (Year 6):
Reading: 88% of pupils achieved Level 4, 58% achieved Level 5 and 4% achieved Level 6.
Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling: 81% achieved Level 4, 58% achieved Level 5 and 8% achieved Level 6.
Writing: 88% achieved Level 4, 52% achieved Level 5 and 8% achieved Level 6. These results are much higher than last year, particularly at the higher levels.
Maths: 85% achieved Level 4, 23% achieved Level 5 and 8% achieved Level 6.
Overall, 81% achieved Level 4 in Reading, Writing and Maths, which is the same as last year. NB the level of special educational needs in the class was particularly high this year in comparison with last year, yet the percentage of pupils achieving the expected standard in Reading, Writing and Maths combined remained consistent.
Progress
In Reading, 96% of pupils made expected progress (2 levels), in Writing, 100% of pupils made expected progress and in Maths, 83% made expected progress. In Reading, 46% achieved more than expected progress, 63% in Writing and 20% in Maths. Our school internal data shows that children made particularly good progress in Year 6 to achieve these results.
