Year 6 Leavers Production

This afternoon, Year 6 performed ‘Grease’ to mark the end of their time here at St Mary’s. They showed such confidence and talent - we are all immensely proud of them.

It was particularly great to welcome back Mr Hadfield to the school, to help present the leavers’ books and trophies. We will all treasure his encouragement to ‘shine like stars’.

Good luck Year 6 - we will all miss you.

Wigmore Hall Concert

Yesterday, our Year 5 children performed as part of a special concert at Wigmore Hall, to commemorate the First World War. They were one of 5 school groups that performed, and they sang a song that they themselves had helped compose! Their singing was absolutely beautiful, and they were a real credit to St Mary’s. Well done, Year 5.

KS2 SATs results

We have recently received our end of Year 6 SATs results, which we are very pleased about!

Well done Year 6 and all the staff who helped them to achieve such good levels.

Reading: L4+ 100%, L5+ 41%; 2 levels progress 100%, 3 levels progress 55%

EGPS (English: Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling): L4+ 89%, L5+ 63%

Writing: L4+ 81%, L5+ 19%; 2 levels progress 100%, 3 levels progress 45%

Maths: L4+ 96%, L5+ 30%, L6 7%; 2 levels progress 90%, 3 levels 30%

The overall for Reading+Writing+Maths at Level 4 = 81% (with 1 child disapplied). Last year, this was 70%.

Rottingdean

On Tuesday, Year 2 and Year 5 went on a trip to Rottingdean, a picturesque village by the sea in East Sussex. They had a wonderful day, and learnt about a very different locality in England.
